It's kinda crazy. We have had rain almost every day for the past week at least. Almost daily thunderstorms, but no power-outages. Crazy. My parents picked a heck of a time to go to Germany.
(Okay, how pathetic am I: I just had a brain spasm in which I couldn't remember if Germany was an actual country or even a real word. I had to look it up on Wikipedia just to be sure I wasn't making up stuff. I need more sleep, for srs.)
Today's storm was pretty cool. It kinda had this spurt of rain where it was just coming down like nobody's business, and I stepped outside onto our porch to watch and brought Sanders out to sit with me, and I just sat there and had the weird thought that it was kinda like being behind a waterfall. And the rain was falling so hard and fast that it bounced up off the pavement and smacked us, and Sanders was getting wet and wearing this adorable "I hate my life" expression, so I let him back in with the Bagel. Of course, it slowed down a little while later but whatev.
And there was lightning everywhere. No really: everywhere. And as a result the sky was like in a constant rumble for at least ten minutes, I don't even know. Sometimes it would strike over on the horizon, kinda outlining the mountains through the clouds, sometimes it would strike just out of my range of vision with the porch overhang, so I wouldn't see the actual bolt but I'd see the flash, either in the sky or reflected off the buildings, sometimes it would be like this big bright tear right across the sky. And I'd just be sitting there watching and listening and getting all inspired for fanfic (I am so pathetic. Maybe I'll write it.)

Storm's over now, but...I kinda want to be able to remember this. I dunno, it's a weird feeling... Like I'd witnessed something major or life-altering, and maybe I did.


In other stuff: I've been picking up my guitar a lot more lately. I don't know why. It's just been sitting in my room and I haven't been paying much attention to it, which is sad, because it was, like, the best Christmas present ever and I've felt really guilty about not acknowledging it. Of course, now I need to relearn all the chords and how to use them more easily.

And a random observation: I'm not very talky about my very personal work. Fanfic and original work, it's like gab gab gab, but if it's really super personal I'm just like, "Okay! Thanks!" Srsleh.


Like I said: Crazy.
