As for suggestions, I only have one: Coming to the last line, I feel like pausing in between the is's, to give it a concluding feel, one last musing statement, so to speak. Or maybe one last puzzled rhetorical question. What is... "is"?, or maybe What IS "is"? though the feel of the first is closer to what i'm suggesting
